Using AutoScript Sync with Lovense

Lovense covers two different cases. The Lovense Solace and Solace Pro are strokers: the app has a profile for them and plays a Lovense funscript on them live from your PC. Lovense vibrators are not properly driven by the script in the released app; you control them by hand from the Vibration panel, and following the script's speed arrives in the next update. Both connect by Bluetooth or the Lovense USB dongle through the app's bundled Intiface engine, and neither has been tested by us on a real Lovense toy.

Lovense Solace and Solace Pro: a stroker

The Solace gets the same treatment as any Intiface stroker: each script point becomes one LinearCmd timed to the next point, at least 30 ms, streamed from your PC with nothing uploaded. On pause it moves to position 50. The app's Lovense Solace / Solace Pro profile allows up to 450 units per second with points at least 60 ms apart. Those are Lovense's published figures minus about 10%, not our measurements.

When the profile applies. In the released app the Solace plays the script as it was generated; the profile's limits and your Stroke Settings reach Intiface devices in the next update. There is no drift correction on this path: the script runs on your PC's clock from each Play or seek.

Auto-detect and Lovense names

With Device model on Auto-detect on connect, any device whose reported name contains “lovense”, “solace” or “max” gets the Solace profile. That includes Lovense vibrators, which are not strokers. If you connect a Lovense vibrator, the profile does not make it stroke; if you own a Solace, choosing Lovense Solace / Solace Pro by hand removes any doubt.

Lovense vibrators today: the Vibration panel

The released app was not built to drive a vibrator from the script. It sends every connected device the script's position, and a toy that cannot stroke receives that as a plain level on its first motor, so a vibrator may buzz at a strength that rises and falls with the position, not with the speed of the motion. We have not tested this on a real toy; treat it as a side effect, not a feature. What the released app does provide is the Vibration panel, available when a connected device reports a vibrating motor. It gives you:

an intensity slider, sent to the toy as you move it;
four looping patterns, Pulse, Wave, Escalate and Tease, sent about 20 times a second to every vibrate and oscillate motor.

This is manual control that runs beside the video, not synchronised to it. For the same reason as above, the released app sends a vibrator the pause position, the middle of the range, which can leave it buzzing at half power when the video pauses. If that happens, move the intensity slider to zero.

In the next update: vibrators follow the script

The next update lets a vibrator follow how fast the script is moving. This is written but not in any released build yet, and the code itself calls the mapping a starting point. Here is how it works:

What it measures: The distance the script's position covered over the last 600 ms.
Below 5 units per second: The motor is off.
From 5 to 300 units per second: Intensity rises from 0.2 to full power, 1.0, reached at 300 units per second.
How often: Updated 10 times a second.
Rotating motors: Follow the same speed, and reverse direction with each stroke.
On pause: Vibration motors are set to zero.
With the Vibration panel: While the panel holds a level above zero or runs a pattern, the script leaves those motors alone.

The same update drives several devices at once, so a Solace and a vibrator can both be connected, and lets a second device follow the video beside the main one.

Connecting: Bluetooth or the USB dongle, never Lovense Connect

The app's bundled Intiface engine opens Bluetooth LE and the Lovense USB dongle. In the released app that is the serial version of the dongle; the newer HID version is added in the next update. Lovense Connect is switched off on purpose because it contacts Lovense's servers. Device control stays on your PC.

If you use the dongle, plug it in before starting. Otherwise make sure Bluetooth is on.
In the Device panel, set the connection to Intiface / Buttplug (local). For a Solace, choose Lovense Solace / Solace Pro under Device model.
Switch the toy on and press Connect. The app scans for up to 12 seconds and, in the released app, drives the first usable device it finds.
For a Solace: open the video and its .funscript, press Send Script to Device, then Play. For a vibrator: use the Vibration panel.

What has been tested

The Lovense path has had one end-to-end run with fake Lovense toys on the real bundled engine, plus tests against mock Buttplug servers. No real Lovense toy, Solace or vibrator, has been tested by us. The only device tested on real hardware is the Autoblow AI Ultra. The bundled engine is intiface-engine v1.4.8 from November 2023, so a Lovense model released after that may be unknown to it.

Troubleshooting

My Lovense vibrator does not match the video. Is it broken?

Probably not. The released app does not drive vibrators from the script's motion; at most the first motor picks up the script's position as a level. Use the Vibration panel's slider or patterns. Following the script's speed comes in the next update.

The dongle is plugged in but no toy is found.

The released app's engine supports the serial version of the Lovense USB dongle only; the newer HID version is added in the next update. Try Bluetooth instead, and press Connect again with the toy switched on.

Can I use Lovense Connect or the Lovense app instead?

No. Lovense Connect is left off because it contacts Lovense's servers, and the app does not talk to Lovense's own software.

I have a Solace and a vibrator. Can both run at once?

Not in the released app, which drives the first usable device it finds. Several devices at once come in the next update.
